Early XMAS for LV! eNotate Unboxing!

Best of Christmas-Eve Day wishes to you! Christmas Day greetings coming tomorrow. For now…

Yesterday my eNotate PDA did arrive as expected from Sevan Muradian at the North American Chess Association. Let’s hear it for the hard working United States Postal Service employees! (Cold, bitter rain all day today in Bloomington.) And a round of applause for my wife, who was home to receive it.

*LV Bounces off the walls, grinning like a GM about to play for money against Bill Gates.*

Kudos to Sevan Muradian, too, after the cut!

Eventually I’ll post a full review post with other pictures. But, for the moment, here’s some of the unboxing pictures after the cut! Enjoy!

(Early caveat: The bad focus on the pictures is mine – I still haven’t mastered how to shoot an LCD screen with flash, and without flash I get a bit of blur – no tripod, either… I hope I don’t do it injustice!)

The box!

A good size box for a PDA!

The box is open!

A well-packed box with styro peanuts. My purchase certainly would weather shipping in this!

eNotate PDA / Dock / Charger

Out of the Box!

Components are out of the box. We have a Dell Axim X51 PDA, AC charger and dock unit. Yay!

Now does it power up, and can I get eNotate running?

It is alive!!!

Up and running! Easy! I’ll save the remaining pics for the review thread, except for a sneak peek at what the move screen looks like in entry mode:

First impressions based on a few minutes use of it, making a game up, signing off on the game, and then beaming it to my laptop: It ROCKS!

More to come after Christmas in a full-fledged review. My thanks to Sevan Muradian for getting it to me so rapidly – immediate Customer Service rating: Superb! The NACA website is still being tweaked a little bit, but he can be reached for more information at the US Chess Federation Forums (username: Sevan Muradian.) I’ll try to get his email up here, as well.

I can already tell this will help me to better enjoy my chess and I hope over the Christmas and Holiday season you

Enjoy your Chess!
