The trophies for the Twin City Chess Club championship of 2011 were presented on March 21st, 2011. Photos (with links to higher resolutions) are below.
Because this is a picture-heavy thread that is crosslinked to the championship, the other photos after the first are below a cut line. Click on the “More” link to see the remainder.
The awards began with Garrett Scott, who reminded us of the club’s long history:
Dennis Bourgerie, Master of Ceremonies, begins by showing the first trophy he ever won. (It was HEAVY – the little cup is a marble base and the cup is a real and heavy metal!)
And then we began our presentations! Not available this evening (and no photos,) are Niranjan Panneerselvam (Scholastic tied champion,) and L.T. (Lamont) Thompson (Under 1200-Unrated tied Champion)
We began with the Under 1200 section.
Next was the scholastic section.
Then it was time for the Open champions:
And then it was time to thank all players for having participated in this year’s championship and time for us to thank our winners and admire their trophies!

Joseph Alford, Open Champion, begins considering his opening repetoire for next year's championship...
But then, seriously….
See you next year!!!
Terrific photos—I just love them! Perhaps we can have a continuing record of who wins over the years.
